Rhodes Joinery & Building Services have recently acquired the old Cooper Kitchens shop in Elland town centre.  Cooper Kitchen was an Ironmonger who made bicyles.  He made different models of the bicyle, tricycle and penny farthing and in 1888 he produced a model called the Elland anti-vibration safety bicycle.  The business was originally in Moorgate Chambers on the corner of the junction before taking over the shop next door (which is well known as the hardware shop) as the business rapidly expanded.

The plan is to refurbish the building in keeping with its history.  Please keep checking back for updates as we go along.
